Reminders Extraction

Detect tasks and due dates in your notes and import them into Apple Reminders - on demand or automatically.

VivaDicta can detect tasks and time-based commitments in your notes and turn them into Apple Reminders. Say something like "I need to visit the dentist on Saturday at 10 a.m." and VivaDicta extracts a reminder with the right title and due date - ready for you to review before it lands in the Reminders app.

It can also pick out calendar events - things that happen at a set time and that you attend, like a dinner, a meeting, or an appointment. Those go to Apple Calendar instead, carrying the start and end, whether they run all day, and a location if you mentioned one. Every item is one or the other, never both.

Extract Tasks On Demand

Open any note and tap the AI Actions button. Switch the segmented control at the top to System (the middle tab between All and Custom) to reveal Smart Actions, then tap Extract Tasks to Reminders. This action scans the current note for reminder-worthy items and shows you suggestions to review before anything is saved.

Review Before Importing

Suggestions open in a Reminder Suggestions sheet. Each suggestion shows the detected title and a due date parsed from the note. Swipe right on a suggestion to add it to Apple Reminders, swipe left to dismiss it, or tap Add to import everything at once.

Automatic Background Extraction

If you do not want to run the action manually, turn on Extract Reminder Suggestions Automatically in Settings > AI Settings. After you save a new note, VivaDicta detects reminder-worthy tasks in the background and keeps them ready for review - nothing is added to Apple Reminders until you approve it.

Review Reminder Button

When background extraction finds suggestions in a note, a Review Reminder button appears at the bottom of the note. Tap it to open the same Reminder Suggestions sheet and decide which items to keep.

Calendar Events

Event extraction is off until you turn on Extract Calendar Events Too in Settings > AI Settings, because it asks for Calendar access and not every note wants it. With it on, the same review sheet shows events alongside reminders, and approving one adds it to your default calendar.

A reminder is something you need to do; an event is somewhere you need to be. "Email the contract by Friday" is a reminder, "dinner with Elena on Thursday at 8" is an event. When the timing cannot be pinned to a real date, VivaDicta keeps the wording from your note rather than guessing, so you can see what was said before you approve it.

Privacy & Permissions

Detection uses your selected AI provider to parse the note text. Importing a suggestion creates a standard Apple Reminder in your default list, or an event in your default calendar, so the first time you add one iOS will ask for Reminders or Calendar access. You can change or revoke either at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security.
