iCloud Sync

Sync transcriptions, presets, dictionary, and API keys between iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

What Syncs

VivaDicta uses iCloud to keep your data in sync across all your Apple devices. The following data syncs automatically:

• Transcriptions and their audio files
• All AI-processed variations
• Custom presets (both user-created and edited built-in presets)
• Custom vocabulary words
• Word replacement rules
• Tags and tag assignments
• API keys — stored securely in iCloud Keychain for cross-device access

Automatic Setup

There is no configuration needed. VivaDicta uses CloudKit with SwiftData under the hood — as long as you are signed into iCloud on your device, sync works automatically.

Cross-Platform

Sync works between VivaDicta for iOS (iPhone and iPad) and VivaDicta for Mac. Record on your iPhone, review and edit on your Mac — or the other way around.

API Key Sync

When you set up an AI provider or transcription service on one device, the API key is stored in iCloud Keychain and becomes available on all your other devices. No need to enter keys multiple times.

Preset Sync

Custom presets you create, as well as any edits to built-in presets, sync across devices. Your preset configuration stays consistent everywhere.

Conflict Resolution

When the same item is edited on multiple devices simultaneously, CloudKit resolves conflicts automatically using a last-write-wins strategy.
