Presets & Variations

40+ built-in AI presets and the ability to create custom ones. Each result saved as a variation.

Presets

Presets are instruction templates that tell the AI how to process your transcription. VivaDicta ships with 40+ built-in presets covering a wide range of use cases:

  • Regular — clean up grammar and punctuation while preserving your original meaning.
  • Summary — condense your transcription into key points.
  • Action Points — extract actionable tasks from your recording.
  • Professional — rewrite in a formal, business-ready tone.
  • Casual — make the text sound natural and conversational.
  • Email — format as a ready-to-send email.
  • Chat — format as a short, messaging-style reply.
  • Coding — extract code-related content and format appropriately.
  • Rewrite — rephrase the text entirely while keeping the meaning.
  • Translations — translate into many languages.
  • Assistant — answer questions and follow instructions from your speech.

Each preset has specific instructions that guide the AI provider during processing. You can mark presets as favorites for quick access in the recording screen and keyboard.

Custom Presets

Create your own presets with custom instructions tailored to your workflow. Go to Settings → Presets and tap Add Preset. Give it a name, icon, and write the instructions that the AI should follow. Custom presets sync across your devices via iCloud.

Variations

Variations let you process the same transcription with multiple presets. Each result is saved as a separate variation, so you can compare outputs without losing any previous results.

Variation Workflow

  1. Open a transcription from your history.
  2. Tap Process in the detail view.
  3. Choose any preset from the list.
  4. The AI-processed result is saved as a new variation linked to that transcription.

You can generate as many variations as you like and compare their outputs side by side. The most recent variation is also shown as the default AI-processed text in your history list.
