Chat With Your Notes

Ask questions about one note or many, or search your library by meaning with Smart Search Chat.

VivaDicta 3.0 lets you have conversations with your notes using AI. Ask questions about a single note, compare ideas across multiple recordings, or search your entire library by meaning. All three modes are available from the same chat interface.

Three Chat Modes

The chat screen has three tabs at the top: Multi-Note, Single-Note, and Smart Search. Each mode serves a different purpose.

Single-Note Chat

Ask questions about one specific note. Open any transcription, tap the chat icon, and start asking. The AI reads the full text of that note and answers based on its content.

Good for:

• Summarizing a long recording
• Extracting action items from a meeting
• Asking follow-up questions about what was said

Cross-Note Search From Chat

While chatting about one note, tap the search icon next to the message input to ask about related content in your other notes. The AI searches your library and brings in relevant context.

Multi-Note Chat

Select multiple notes and chat with all of them at once. The AI can compare, connect, and synthesize ideas across your recordings.

Good for:

• Finding common themes across meeting notes
• Comparing ideas from different recordings
• Getting a summary of a series of notes

Smart Search

Ask a question in plain language and the AI searches your entire note library by meaning, not just keywords. It finds relevant notes, reads them, and gives you a direct answer with source citations.

Tap the source citation at the bottom of any answer to jump to the original note.

AI Provider

Chat uses the same AI provider configured in your mode settings. It works with Apple Foundation Model on-device, or any cloud provider you have set up (Claude, OpenAI, Gemini, etc.).

For best results with multi-note and Smart Search, use a capable model that can handle longer context.

Getting Started

1. Make sure you have an AI provider configured.
2. Single-Note: open any note and tap the chat icon in the toolbar.
3. Multi-Note: go to the note list, tap Select, choose your notes, then tap the Chat button at the bottom left.
4. Smart Search: tap the Chat button (bottom right) on the main screen, then select Smart Search in the tab bar at the top.
