Tags & Organization
Custom tags, source tracking, and filtering for your transcriptions.
Tags help you organize and filter your transcriptions. VivaDicta has two types: source tags (automatic) and custom tags (created by you).
Source Tags
Source tags are assigned automatically to track where a transcription came from:
- Mac — recorded on your Mac.
- iOS — recorded on iPhone or iPad.
- iOS Keyboard — dictated via the VivaDicta keyboard extension.
- Share Extension — imported via the iOS share sheet.
- YouTube — transcribed from a YouTube video.
Custom Tags
Create your own tags to organize transcriptions by project, topic, or any category you like.
Creating a Tag
- In the sidebar, find the Tags section.
- Click the + button to create a new tag.
- Choose a name, color, and SF Symbol icon for your tag.
Assigning Tags
- Open a transcription in the detail view.
- Click the tag button in the bottom toolbar.
- Select tags from the popover picker.
Filtering by Tags
Use the sidebar to filter your transcription history by source tags or custom tags. Tags appear as filter options with their color and icon.
iCloud Sync
Tags sync across devices via iCloud — tags created on your Mac appear on iOS and vice versa.
