Reminders & Calendar

Turn a note into Apple Reminders drafts and Calendar events, reviewed before anything is added.

A finished note can be turned into Apple Reminders drafts and, behind a second toggle, Apple Calendar events. Nothing is created without your approval — extraction produces drafts you review first.

Turning It On

Both toggles are off by default, in Settings:

Extract reminders — run extraction automatically after a recording finishes.
Extract Calendar Events Too — also look for things that happen at a set time.

You can also run extraction on demand from a note in History, whether or not automatic extraction is on.

Reminders vs Events

One AI pass returns both, and each item is classified as exactly one of the two:

An event is something you attend at a set time. "Dinner with Elena on Friday at 7" is an event.
A reminder is a task you do. "I need to book a dentist appointment" is a reminder — there is nothing to attend yet.

"Remind me about the dentist on Saturday at 10" is an event, because the appointment is the real thing and the reminding is just how it was phrased. Asking once rather than twice is also what stops the same sentence landing in both lists.

What a Draft Contains

Reminder drafts carry a title, an optional due date resolved against your current time zone, the original phrase the date came from, notes, and a priority. Calendar drafts carry a title, start and end, and a location when one was mentioned.

An event whose timing never resolved to a real date is still shown for review, flagged, with Add disabled — Calendar needs a start date.

Reviewing and Adding

Drafts live on the note until you act on them. Add the ones you want, dismiss the rest. Re-running extraction keeps drafts you already imported, so a reminder is never offered twice.

Which AI Runs It

The backend resolves from the note's Viva Mode: a per-mode extractor override first, then the mode's regular AI provider, then Apple Intelligence.

Extraction needs a structured response, so providers that cannot produce one are left out of the picker — Ollama Cloud, OpenCode Zen, OpenCode Go, GitHub Copilot and Local AI.

Permissions

Adding a reminder needs Reminders access. Adding an event needs full Calendar access, not write-only — choosing which calendar to add to requires reading the calendar list.
